Bollywood Cricket: Head Injury Part 2
This is a continuation of the story of Bollywood directors in the commentary box at a cricket match where the batting team’s opener has been hit on the head by a bouncer and taken to hospital for a brain scan by the team physio. Also, news has come in that the bowler has announced his retirement from cricket after just one ball bowled.
Here is Bollywood director, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, with his version of the events that have transpired:
“Actually, none of my fellow commentators, Sunny Gavaskar, Subhash Ghai or Aditya Chopra could understand what has actually happened.
It is crystal clear to me that the batsman, bowler and physio are all in it together. All of them were classmates at the same college, and today they have received news that another classmate, whom they have not met for the last ten years, has been traced.
If you look at the action replay, you will see that the ball was nowhere near the batsman’s head. He was feigning injury. The physio hasn’t taken him to any hospital. Right now, those three idiots are on their way to Shimla, where their long lost friend is supposed to be…”
