Colombo Test: Sachin Tendulkar gets his Double Century
Master blaster, Sachin Tendulkar raced to his fifth 200 plus score in Test Cricket. Sachin equalled Brian Lara’s record of scoring 150-plus runs, for the 19th occasion in Test Cricket. Prior to this match, his maximum score is 248 against Bangladesh. We will have to wait and see if he goes past his previous highest score and may be also go on to score his first triple century.
Earlier today, after resuming play on the 4th day, Raina and Tendulkar had a solid 5th wicket partnership scoring 256 runs. Raina perished on 120, when he lost concentration and hit one straight to Sangakarra.
Currently, Dhoni who is at the other end needs to play with patience, so that Sachin can aim to get his first triple century in Test Cricket. Their partnership has already added 50 plus runs to India’s total.
This test match has been a run feast with already more than 1000 runs scored with the second innings yet to come. The pitch is getting slower and slower with the batsmen getting plenty of time to play the deliveries. India’s run rate has been 3.6 per over which shows how much the pitch has favoured the batsmen. The current score is India’s highest score in Sri Lanka.
India’s scoreboard currently reads 576/5 in 156 overs.
