Rogers Cup Schedule, Seeding and Prize Money
Rogers Cup is a prestigious tournament categorised as an ATP Tour Masters 1000 tournament, and is played on a hard surface. In fact, just as Wimbledon marks the end of the grass court season, Rogers Cup heralds the beginning of the hard court season.
This Canadian Open tournament, whose first edition was held in 1881, is incidentally amongst the world’s oldest Tennis tournaments, with only Wimbledon and the US Open older than this event.
This year, the men’s edition will be held at the Rexall Center, at York University, Toronto. The week long tournament is scheduled to start on 8th August 2011; the finals will be played on 14th August 2011.
The prize money at stake for which the players are competing is $ 2,430,000

The men’s event in 2010 was won by Andy Murray, who will be attempting a three-pete, this year, having won the title, in 2009, also. In the 2010 final, Murray beat Roger Federer 7-5, 7-5.
The women’s edition will be held at the Uniprix Stadium, in Montreal. Like the men’s event, this one is also scheduled to run from 8th August 2011 to14th August 2011.
The women will be competing for a prize money stake of $ 2,000,000.

Rogers Sportsnet has become the official English Canada Cable Broadcaster of Rogers Cup, from Toronto and Montreal. As the result, there will be a combined television broadcast of the men’s and women’s events from both Toronto and Montreal. Rogers with up to three different matches aired simultaneously.
Importantly, there will also be a live streaming online at sportsnet.ca.
