Rogers Cup 2010 Final: Advantage Murray, as Federer loses First Set

| August 16, 2010

Great Britain’s Andy Murray won the first set 7-5 and has broken Federer’s serve in the second set.

According to statistics, the last 8 Masters 1000 finals have been won by the player winning the 1st set.

Will we witness Murray winning the trophy for the second consecutive time, today? Roger Federer has won the Rogers Cup twice, in 2004 and 2006.

It is a grey day at Toronto and once again rain has interrupted play. The rain certainly seems to be favouring Federer, as it interrupts play whenever Murray starts building momentum.

The players are competing for prize money of US$2,450,000. The winner will be awarded 1000 ATP points and the runner-up, 600. The losing semi finalists will be awarded 360 ATP points each.
