Harbhajan and Symonds became unlikely teammates, in the IPL auction at Bangalore on Saturday. Mumbai Indians made a successful bid of $850,000 for Symonds, whose love-hate relationship with Harbhajan Singh is the stuff of legend.
Another piece of news that caused talk during the day was that there were no buyers for former Indian captain Saurav Ganguly.
CSK retained as many as 8 players, including skipper Dhoni for a price of $1.8mwhile several other teams underwent dramatic transformations.
