St Johnstone seem to have lost their way a little since their back-to-back victories over Accies (league) and Partick Thistle (cup). Those wins must seem like a long time ago now for Saints fans. And things aren’t about to get easier, with Hibs next up.
Hibs fine away win at Accies finally moved them up a place in the table — at the expense co-incidentally of hosts St Johnstone. But it took Hibs 5 wins in a row to do it.. What we all want to know now is – can they make it 6 ? Another good question – where would Hibs be if they hadn’t been so completely dismal up until their winning streak started ?
St Johnstone’s last 5 game record reads…
[St Johnstone’s score first]
27 February Away 0-4 vs Rangers (SPL)
22 February Home 0-0 vs Dundee United (SPL)
19 February Away 0-2 vs Inverness Caledonian Thistle (SPL)
9 February Home 2-0 vs Partick Thistle (Scottish Cup)
1 February Home 2-0 vs Hamilton Academicals (SPL)
Hibernian’s last 5 game record reads…
[Hibernian’s score first]
1 March Away 2-1 vs Hamilton Academical (SPL)
26 February Home 2-0 vs Inverness Caledonian Thistle (SPL)
20 February Away 1-0 vs St Mirren (SPL)
12 February Home 2-1 vs Kilmarnock (SPL)
2 February Home 2-0 vs St Mirren (SPL)
Hibs on a roll is one of the great phenomena of Scottish football. Renowned down the years and decades for their exciting and exhilarating playing style (when things are going well of course), a return to that sort of form would be a real tonic for all of us interested in football. A poor Hibs is a real dampener on a season.
So, for the good of Scottish football, a fine Hibs win please. Thankyou.
