The following article was written before the first warm up match on August 6:
Moody is happy to be back with the team. He is reported to have said, speaking to Sky Sports News, that “To be out there and to get to play at Twickenham this weekend will be fantastic. It’s the exciting part. You get a chance to play and go out on the pitch and do what you’re paid to do.”
However, England manager Martin Johnson is keen to have Moody at England’s helm at the world cup. the team for the match against Wales will be made known on Thursday afternoon. England will play two more pre-world cup games apart from the weekend fixture against Wales.
Apart from Moody, the England squad is likely to include Manu Tuilagi, Charlie Sharples and Mouritz Botha, all with their first caps.
Tindal who captained England in four victorious matches in the Six Nations before opting out with injury is keen to see Moody back with the squad. Tindall who missed the 2007 world cup owning to a broken leg is looking forward to this year’s event.
According to Tindall, it will be an open competition with almost every team capable of winning it. There were certain to be upsets, he is reported to have said, and that England’s attacking style of play would hold them in good stead.
Meanwhile there’s confirmation from the Rugby Football union that all 82,000 tickets for the Twickenham game between england and Wales have been sold out.
