Cincinnati Masters 2011: Murray Vs Fish Semi-finals Match Time
Britain’s Andy Murray and USA’s Mardy Fish will meet in the semi-finals of the Cincinnati Masters tennis tournament, on Saturday, August 20.
Murray beat France’s Simon in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 in the quarter-finals, while Fish stunned Rafael Nadal 6-3, 6-4, in another quarter-final encounter, on Friday.

Fish’s quarter-final win over Nadal was his first against the Spaniard in seven meetings. Fish was impressive with his service; he won 82% first serve points and had 11 aces, while converting two out of four break opportunities.
Murray completely dominated Simon in his quarter-final, breaking the Frenchman’s service four times, and hitting eight aces en route to his victory.
Born on May 15, 1987, Murray is six years older than Fish who was born on December 8, 2005. While Murray is ranked 4th in the current ATP standings, Fish is three places below him at 7th place.
Head to head, Fish has won 4 of the 7 matches the players have have played against each other, in the past. They first met on a tennis court, in 2005, in a second round match at Indianpolis, a match Fish won in three sets 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. They next met in the first round of the SAP Open, at San Jose, in 2006. Murray won that match in straight sets 6-2, 6-2. Later, the same year, Fish and Murray clashed in the quarter-finals at Washington; once again Murray prevailed over the American rival, in straight sets 6-2, 6-4.
Thereafter, they played each other in the quarter-finals at London’s Queens Club, in 2009, a match in which Murray prevailed by the straight sets score-line of 7-5, 6-3.
Thereafter, the players have met thrice, with Fish winning on all three occasions. In the second round of the 2010 Sony Ericcson Open Masters Series at Miami in 2010, Fish beat the British number one in straight sets 6-4, 6-4. Later that year, the players met in the quarter-finals at Queens club, and Fish won that match in three sets 6-4, 1-6, 7-6.
The latest meeting between the players came at the Cincinnati Masters in 2010. Fish won the encounter in three sets 6-7, 6-1, 7-6.
