IL 5 Preview: Mumbai Indians Vs Delhi Daredevils Match 19
Mumbai Indians are set to return to IPL action after a five-day break, when they host Delhi Daredevils, on Monday, April 17, 2012, in match 19 of the tournament.
Having won three of four games, MI’s confidence will be high, ahead of the game; they will up against an equally confident DD side who have registered two wins in three games, with a win against CSK in their match played.
In their last game, MI batted their rivals out of the match thanks to solid innings from Pollard, Rayudu and Sharma; the return of Tendulkar to action will only boost the batting against DD. the bowling has also lookd good, with the exception of Ojha, who after a good first game, has been lacklustre. Malinga, Munaf Patel and Harbhajan ahve all bowled well, with Pollard chipping in as the fifth bowler.
DD’s batting is looking exceptionally good with the addition of Pietersen and Jayawardene to the already strong line-up that has Sehwag, I Pathan, Rao and Naman Ojha. Morne Morkel has led the bowling attack brilliantly and has been ably supported by the likes of Yadav and Nadeem. In the dew-ridden Wankhede, Mumbai coudl replace Van der Merwe with Bracewell. where MI have the edge is in DD’s lack of a guaranteed fifth bowling option with Pathan a bit inconsistent and the only rival for the job is Yogesh Nagar.
Though DD are playing well, MI look the more balanced team and home advantage is likely to give them the winning edge, on Monday.
MI’s probable eleven: Tendulkar, Levy, Sharma, Rayudu, Karthik, Franklin, Pollard, H Singh, Malinga, Patel, Ojha.
DD’s probable eleven: Sehwag, Jayawardene, Ojha, Pietersen, Rao, Nagar, Pathan, Bracewell, Morkel, Nadeem , Yadav.
