Bookies Favour Mumbai Indians To Beat Chennai Super Kings in Eliminator

| May 22, 2012

Bookmakers overwhelmingly favour Mumbai indians to beat Chennai Super Kings when the teams meet in the IPL 5 eliminator round on Wednesday, May 23, 2012.

Several bookies offer identical odds of 4/5 on a MI win, including bet365, Skybet, Betfred, Bet Victor, Bluesq, Paddy Power, StanJames, 888sport, 188Bet, Coral and William Hill. Most of these bookies offer even odds on a CSK win. there are a few exceptions though. For instance, 188Bet offers 18/19 on a CSK win.

Totesport’s quote on a MI win is 8/11 while Boylesports offers 9/10, Ladbrokes 10/11, bodog 5/6, 32Red 8/9  and betfair 22/25. Botlesports also offers 9/10 on a CSK win, while Ladbrokes offers 10/11 on that eventuality. Probability the most pessimistic odds on CSK win are revealed by betfair’s quote of 101/100 on that eventuality.

While most bookies offer the same odds for both teams in respect of the highest opening partnership of the match, StanJames alone offers 4/5 on CSK having the highest opening partnership while quoting even money on MI registering the highest partnership for the first wicket.

Mike Hussey is the overwhelming favourite to emerge as CSK’s top batsman in the match followed by du Plessis, Raina, Vijay, Dhoni and Bravo, in that order.

Among Mumbai batsmen, Tendulkar is the most favoured to emerge as the top scoring batsman of his side, followed by Sharma, Blizzard, Smith and Gibbs in that order. Surprisingly, Rayudu ranks way down the list below the likes of Suman, Karthik and AV Wankhede (who is he?).
