French Open 2012: Semifinals Schedule Featuring Nadal, Ferrer, Djokovic, Federer
It is semi-finals day at the French Open 2012, on Friday, June 8, 2012, and the top three players of the world are set to display their wares at Roland Garros.
World number two Rafael Nadal is the favourite to win his seventh French crown in eight years. Nadal reached the semi-finals with a straight sets (7-6, 6-2, 6-3) mauling of his countryman, Almagro. En route to the semi-final, Nadal also scalped Bolelli, Ishtomen, Schwank and Monaco, all in straight sets.
Nadal’s compatriot Ferrer got the better of world number four, Andy Murray, 6-4, 6-7, 6-3, 6-2, to make a date with Rafa. Before that, Ferrer had straight sets wins against Lacko, Paire, Youzhny and Granollers.
Nadal and Ferrer have met 21 times in the past, with Nadal winning on 15 occasions; 14 of those meeting came on clay surfaces. Ferrer has beaten Nadal just once on clay, that win coming at Stuttgart in 2004. The two last met in the semi-finals at Rome, last month, when Nadal won 7-6, 6-0.
Both Djokovic and Federer won gruelling five setters against Tsonga and Del Potro, respectively. Federer got the better of Kamke, Ungur, Mahut and Goffin, in the first four rounds, while Djokovic disposed of Starace, Kavcic, Devilder and Seppi, before meeting Frenchman Tsonga, in the quarterfinals.

Note: The semi-finals between Djokovic and Federer will only begin after the fend of the first semi-final between Nadal and Ferrer.
