Arsenal football club have confirmed that their striker Carlos Vela is in talks with the Spanish club Real Sociedad about a permanent move. The Mexican spent the whole of last season on loan with the La Liga club making 35 appearances and scoring 12 goals. Despite possessing immense talent, he has always found it difficult to break into Arsenal’s first team thanks to heavy competition from Robin van Persie and Marouane Chamakh. With the arrival of Olivier Giroud, his playing time would be further reduced and the 23-year old took the only logical option making a move away from the club. Vela has scored 11 goals for the Gunners in his 62 appearances in his three seasons at North London.

Chelsea are reportedly making a 25 million pound move for the Brazilian wonder-kid Oscar. According to reports, the London club have agreed for a deal with his club Internacional. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder, has scored  19 goals and 20 assists for Internacional in the last two seasons,  would be a valuable addition to Chelsea’s ageing midfield. With 21-year-old Edin Hazard already signing for the Blues, Oscar would be a great prospect for the future as di Matteo looks to spruce up his midfield.

Wigan Athletic have signed young midfielder Fraser Fyvie from the Scottish club Aberdeen for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around half a million pounds. At just nineteen years of age, he has played over sixty games for Aberdeen and is touted to be the next big prospect for Scotland. He played 33 games for his club last season. Lactics manager Roberto Martinez has showered rich praise on the teenager, appreciating his technical skills and ability to retain possession. His signing is very crucial for Wigan Athletic as they have already lost their star striker Hugo Rodallega to Fulham in a free transfer and might find it difficult to hold on to another talented player Victor Moses, who has generated a lot of interest from Arsenal.

Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan has signed a three-year contract extension that would keep him at the club till the 2014-2015 season. The 27-year old American is the number two goalkeeper at Villa Park behind the Irish international Shay Given. He joined  Villa in 2008 from Major League Soccer side Chivas USA. He played eight games for his club last season, after an injury to Given. Though his opportunities have been limited in the three seasons that he has spent here, new Villa boss Paul Lambert expects him to challenge Given for a place in the starting eleven.

Arsenal have made a 9 million pound bid for  the Corinthians midfielder Paulinho. In a bid to strengthen their midfield, the Gunners have made an initial offer for the Brazilian, who has also evinced the interest of Chelsea. Meanwhile, Liverpool are making an audacious attempt to lure England international Theo Walcott to Anfield. The Arsenal winger has only a year left in his contract and is reportedly unhappy with his $ 65000 per week salary at the Emirates. However, it is unsure if he will make a move to Liverpool, given their struggles last season and lack of Champions league football this season.
